Tracing and Skip Tracing

Some people do not want to be found. Our team uses current technology and proven techniques to track down individuals who have gone off the grid — whether that is a missing person or someone avoiding their debts, we can locate them.

When tracing is needed

• A debtor has moved without leaving a forwarding address
• Documents cannot be served because the address is out of date
• A guarantor or former customer has gone quiet
• A family member or beneficiary needs to be located
• An asset needs to be located before recovery

What happens next

Tracing is rarely the end of the job. Once someone is located we can usually carry straight on to serving documents, recovering the debt or recovering the asset — without the file changing hands.

Where we operate

Robuk has operated since 2003 and works through a network of agents across New Zealand, so instructions are not limited to the main centres. Since 2025 Robuk has been part of Tony Lowe Investigations, which widens the resources available to each file. Instructions can be given from anywhere in the country, and we will tell you at the outset what is realistic for the location involved.

Common questions

What do you need from me to start?

Whatever you hold — full name, date of birth, last known address, employer, vehicle, or any associated people. More detail generally means a faster result, but a name and a last known address is usually enough to begin.

Can you trace assets as well as people?

Yes. Locating what someone owns is often the point of the exercise, particularly where the objective is recovery or enforcement rather than contact.

What if the trail goes cold?

We will tell you what is realistic before you commit, and again if the position changes, rather than running up work with no prospect of a result.
